Right on the cusp of the design cleanup that led to a lot of Edsel-Mercurys shipping essentially unaltered from what they *would have been*, had Edsel not been shuttered.

I look forward to a future world that resemble the one in "Gattaca" in only one respect...there will be some kind of futre power source that allows all old cars like this to be retro fitted with it. At that point I will cruise around in things like this....all the time!

Yup. That's the '60, alright.

Interesting bit of trivia...the '60 Mercury Comet was supposed to be an Edsel. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, the '60 Comet's taillights interchange with the '60 Edsel's.

You ARE correct! Some of the earliest comets even had Edsel keys.

Not totally dissin because I think this design is really clean...but there is always one aspect of an Edsel I find horrible. In this case, they fixed the grille, but would have looked a hell of a lot better with dual reds in the back, not 1 red, 1 white

i do like it. clean clean lines. dual tail lamp colors bother me a bit but the dual tail lamp LINEs are very nice....so i can be just fine with them. Very nice.
